1998年諾貝爾生理醫學獎得主Robert F. Furchgott、Louis J. Ignarro和Ferid Murad發現了一氧化氮分子(nitric oxide,NO)是生物體內一種重要的訊息傳輸物質,這項偉大的發現開創了往後十年一連串對於一氧化氮的高度研究興趣。
我們的最終目的是希望開發出一個具有即時性、選擇性、重複性的一氧化氮濃度生物感測器。本實驗室先前已有對於NO probe的研究,本論文將著重在於找到一個符合NO probe吸收頻譜peak的綠光有機發光二極體(OLED),以及可感測NO probe放光頻譜的的紅光共軛高分子光感測器。並希望將負責發射、偵測、接收的元件整合成一個chip。
本論文使用Alq3作為綠光OLED之發光主動層,並且成功的用OLED光源激發出probe的PL,然後再經由我們的P3HT/PCBM共軛高分子光感測器偵測到訊號。這將可為量測工作省去了雷射光源的架設,並藉由棋盤狀的光源區域將整個整合量測元件將縮小到只有10立方公分之內的尺寸。
Robert F. Furchgott , Louis J. Ignarro and Ferid Murad have owned the Nobel Prize in 1988 due to finding nitric oxide as a signal molecule in the cardiovascular system. From then on, most people got interested in this nitric oxide molecule (NO).
We do hope to make a disposable solid polymer-based biosensor with all the device in one chip which could real-time detect the variety of nitric oxide concentrations released from the cell. And this research put emphasis on the integrated device consists of an OLED as light source, NO probe and a photodiode as the detector.
The NO probe is coming from the Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica Prof. Hung. We have known the PL quench of sold film of NO probe is due to its reaction with NO. Moreover, the advantage of the solid film of NO probe is highly selectivity and reversibility.
We use OLED as the exciting light source to substitute for the LASER system and use organics photodiode (OPD) as detector. The photo-current could be response to the PL variation due to the probe react with NO. The size of the integrated chip is less than 10 cm2 and omits the larger optical system.
