本研究主要目的是探討如何使用網路與多媒體技術來建置一個遊戲式學習系統,並配合國中社會科「世界地理」的學習內容與「角色扮演」的遊戲設計,以提供學生線上輔助學習的環境。首先研究者探討學生使用網路遊戲的動機以及在數位學習系統中加入遊戲設計對於學生參與學習意願的影響,再研究網路遊戲式學習系統的建置技術和內容設計。研究者並透過教學實驗來探討此遊戲式學習系統在教學應用上的效果和瞭解學生對遊戲式學習的看法。研究結果顯示:(一)此遊戲式學習系統能提昇學生的學習成效。(二)實驗組學生之性別及其平日使用網路的狀況對於學習成效並無顯著的影響,但在本遊戲式學習系統之經驗值對於學習成效達顯著的影響,經驗值愈高者其學習成效愈好。(三)問卷調查結果顯示此遊戲式學習系統能引發學生的學習動機和學習意願。
The purpose of this study was to investigate how to use network and multimedia technologies to develop a game-based learning system, incorporated with the contents of “World Geography” in the social science curriculum of 9th grade junior high schools and the design of role-playing games, to provide students with an online assisted-learning environment. The researcher first analyzed students’ motivation in playing online games and the effect of using game-based design on their willingness of participating learning, and then studied the technologies for developing a game-based learning system and the design of its contents. A teaching experiment was conducted to evaluate the learning effect of applying this system in social science education and to understand students’ responses and attitudes towards game-based learning. The experimental results revealed that: (1) the game-based learning system could enhance students’ learning; (2) the effects of gender and daily usage of computer networks in experimental group were not significant on their performance, but the game experience in this experiment was an important factor affecting students’ learning (the higer the experience, the better the learning effect); (3) the questionnaire results showed that the game-based learning system had a positive effect on increasing students’ motivation and willingness to learn.
