台南地區以「KAM-VP」問句當成中性問句使用的情況相當普遍，甚至有超越VP-NEG問句的情況， 為了對台南地區閩南語中性問句的使用有更全面性的認識，並了解台南地區發音人將「KAM-VP」問句當為中性問句使用的情況，研究設定以不同年齡層(老、中、青)、不同性別、職業共60人次進行調查，並參考文獻上王本瑛、連金發(1995)的調查結果進行比較，交叉對比出台南地區與新竹地區兩區域中性問句的使用情況與差異性。
另一方面將從社會學語言學觀點來探討台南地區中性問句用法的變異現象，歸納出台南地區使用「KAM-VP」問句對應中性問句的用法以及使用趨勢為何，台南地區發音人閩南語中性問句使用的多樣化，隨著年齡、性別和職業的不同，發音人五類問句類型的使用情況不盡相同，尤其又以年齡和性別兩個社會因素所產生的使用差異較明顯。文中也藉由各年齡層在不同類型問句的使用現象，討論台南地區「KAM-VP」問句的語意內涵。
本文共為七章，第一章為研究動機與研究方法，第二章為文獻探討，第三章為台南地區中性問句使用介紹-以南叔公(73)為例，第四章介紹台南地區閩南語中性問句使用情況，第五章介紹「KAM-VP」問句的使用現象，第六章為其他問句使用討論，第七章為結語。

Abstract
Use of the KAM-VP-type question as a neutral question is very common in Tainan, even in some cases more common than the VP-NEG-type. The purpose of this study is to attain a comprehensive understanding of the use of the neutral question in the Tainan area Southern Min dialect and how the Tainan informant uses the KAM-VP-type question as a neutral question. I have investigated 60 Southern Min informants from Tainan, divided into groups according to their age (15, 28-45, 55 years and above), gender, and occupation. Using cross-sectional comparison, I compare my results with that of studies by Lien and Wang (1995) to identify the differences in neutral question usage between Tainan and Hsinchu Southern Min dialect informants.
I also examine the variation in neutral question usage from a sociolinguistic perspective. My research shows: 1) the evolving trend of using the KAM-VP-type question as a neutral question in Tainan; 2) the various types of neutral questions used by informants of the Southern Min dialect in Tainan; 3) and how such neutral questions vary according to the age, gender, and occupation of each informant. It turns out that age and gender are the two most critical social factors that determine the use of neutral questions. Finally, I discuss the semantics of the KAM-VP-type question based on the different use of questions among the three age groups.
My thesis is divided into seven chapters: Chapter 1 explains my motivation in carrying out this research and the research methods employed; Chapter 2 is a review of the literature; Chapter 3 is an introduction to the use of the Southern Min dialect neutral question in the Tainan area, with great uncle Nan(73) as example; Chapter 4 illustrates the current use of the Southern Min dialect neutral question in the Tainan area; Chapter 5 demonstrates the use of the KAM-VP-type question; Chapter 6 discusses the use of other types of questions; and Chapter 7 is the conclusion.
